EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT.

The Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) has appointed Prof. Martin M Lwanga as Director General (DG) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Prof. Lwanga’s appointment is effective 1 February 2023. Prof. Lwanga brings with him over 20 years of training and education experience and has successfully demonstrated both technical and leadership competencies in the roles he has held.

Dr. Martin M. Lwanga is Associate Professor and prior to his appointment as Director General of ESAMI, he served as Dean of the Uganda Christian University School of Business. Prof. Lwanga has held several positions in the region, most notably, Head of Management Department, Uganda Management Institute, lecturer at Makerere University and is co- Founder of 104.1 FM in Uganda. He has consulted extensively for International, government, private and civil society organisations in the region and serves as a Board member on several international and local Boards. A prolific author, he has authored over a dozen books and published widely in academic journals in areas of leadership and management, governance, personal development and literature. Prof. Lwanga received his Doctorate in Business Leadership from University of South Africa, Master of Business Administration from Maastricht School of Management/ESAMI, Master of Public Administration, University of Oklahoma, US and Bachelor of Arts, Makerere University, Uganda. He is married to Mrs. Milly Kimuli Lwanga with children.
Commenting on the appointment of Prof. Lwanga, the Chairperson of the Governing Board of ESAMI, Mrs. Mary W. Kimonye, (CBS) said, “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Prof. Lwanga as the new DG and CEO of ESAMI. Prof. Lwanga is very talented with extensive experience in the education sector. Having worked in the academia for over 20 years, Prof. Lwanga brings a wealth of knowledge and unique expertise to our great Pan African Institute. We are looking forward to him leading ESAMI to even greater heights.”
